Summer's Gold

Summer’s gold faded long ago
the swallows have gone to
wherever swallows go
I’m just sitting here watching
shadows growing long on the wall
but my mind is drifting away
to another shore
and where I’m flying high
the sun don’t set 'til late
in this candyfloss sky
swept along by fate
following the wind
he'll lead me to you
or maybe you're up here somewhere
flying high too

Winter’s whites are storming in
I better find the road home
Moon pretty please
light up the way
While I have been wandering
lost and alone
the sun has set
and the night has come
so as I’ve paid my debt
and the light has won.
