Hey Santa

© 2025

Hey Santa, it’s me
although I don’t expect you to remember my name
and I’m not even sure if you real
but all the same,
somewhere up there
is a little white cloud with my name
soft and puffy
warm and fluffy
and far away from all this madness
pretty please can you tell me
how much longer do I have to pay?
before I can go up there and stay
on my soft white cloud
far away from all this sadness?

Or better yet
I quite fancy coming to see where you live
with your little Elves
making the toys that you give
it sounds pretty dreamy
glitzy and gleamy
perhaps I could have my own little sleigh
to float around the Milky Way?

Hey Santa, while we’re at it
could you sprinkle some wisdom
on these empty heads down here?
I can’t deal with it
and some are as thick as two bricks
even worse, some lack heart
and are busy tearing the Earth apart

Please could you give the Animals a chance
imagine someone shooting your reindeer for fun
could the hunters not rather learn to dance
and understand we are all one
family in fur with tails or wings
we are supposed to love them
Animals are not things
in fact I don’t think that we should rule
some of us down here are way too cruel
it seems like we will never be cool
so could the Lion-God rather return
I think it’s time for us to learn
and mend our ways
or we will burn

Then I could swop my soft white cloud
for a mossy forest glade
and have tea with the wildwood folk
under the old Oak's shade

Oh Santa if you're real
could I please make you a deal
could you help us set the Earth to right
and take away the cruel,
and the empty-headed fools
and only leave the Kind and Light.
